Cameron University invites prospective college students to attend Pickaxe Preview

Cameron University’s Office of Admissions will host Pickaxe Preview, an informational event for prospective students, on Saturday, November 2, from 9 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. High school students, their guardians and the public are invited to learn more about the benefits of becoming a Cameron University Aggie during the multi-faceted event. To register for Pickaxe Preview, visit www.cameron.edu/pickaxe-preview. For more information, call Office of Admissions at 580-581-2289.

“Pickaxe Preview will provide attendees with comprehensive information about Cameron University’s degree programs, financial assistance and scholarship opportunities, and campus life in general,” says Brenda Dally, Director of Admissions. “Cameron is a bit of a hidden gem – our degree programs are outstanding, our class sizes are small, and our faculty and staff are committed to helping every student complete a college degree. I encourage anyone who is curious about college to attend Pickaxe Preview to see first-hand what Cameron has to offer.”

Pickaxe Preview will kick off with campus tours. Highlights of the tours might include CU’s Esports Suite, a state-of-the-art student-run broadcast studio, the digital media lab in the CU Library, the student Collaboration Room in CETES, science labs and more. Attendees will also learn about campus housing options.

Later, guests will be served lunch and attend a browsing fair, where prospective students have the opportunity to learn more about specific departments, degree programs and student organizations.

“Cameron University continues to offer a quality education at an affordable price,” says Dally. “Pickaxe Preview is a don’t-miss opportunity for anyone who is interested in obtaining a college degree.”
