Cameron University forensics team claims three first place awards

The Cameron University Forensics team recently traveled to the Cowtown Swing for one-day tournaments hosted by Texas Christian University and West Texas A&M University. CU students Braydon Hunter and Micah Elroy competed in two events each in both tournaments.

For the TCU tourney, Elroy took first place in both of his events, Poetry and Program Oral Interpretation. Hunter placed third in Poetry.

For the WTAMU tourney, Hunter placed first in Poetry and Elroy placed fifth in Program Oral Interpretation.

Elroy is a freshman from Marlow. He is pursuing a Bachelor of Science degree in biology.

Hunter is a freshman from Okmulgee. He is majoring in Allied Health Sciences.

“Two students, five awards, three first-place finishes! I am thrilled with this result,” says Katie Stringer, director of CU’s forensics team. “I am very proud of Braydon and Micah. This was quite an accomplishment in the speech world. We are tiny, but oh, so mighty!”
