Cameron University welcomes Carey Monroe as Director of Events Management

Carey Monroe has joined the Cameron University staff as Director of Events Management. A CU alumna who earned a Bachelor of Business Administration in 2008, Monroe was previously Community Events Coordinator and Graphic Designer for City National Bank.

“We are excited to have Carey join the Aggie Team,” says Albert Johnson, Jr., Vice President for University Advancement. “Her involvement with the community as well as unique talents with hosting events will enhance the experiences that our guests will benefit from when using our facilities. “Carey’s excitement about joining Cameron and her proven skillset of managing events are true assets for the Events Management team and will result in the continued high standards that our customers are accustomed to receiving.”

As Director of Events Management, Monroe provides oversight and ensures policy and procedures are followed as they relate to events held at Cameron University. She is responsible for a wide-range of duties that encompass event recruitment, event planning and execution, management of facility usage, budget and fiscal management, and support of event policies and processes.

Monroe is no newcomer to higher education. She served as Marketing Specialist and Graphic Artist and then Head of Marketing and Public Relations for Western Oklahoma State College prior to her position at Lawton’s City National Bank. She has also worked as a freelance graphic designer.

She is a member of the Young Professionals of Lawton Board and serves on the Event Planning Committee. In addition, she volunteers her time as a member of the Marketing Committee for the Museum of the Great Plains and serves as the Ways and Means chairperson for the PTA at a local elementary school.
