Cameron University faculty members named to endowed faculty positions

Cameron University announces the naming of six Cameron faculty members to endowed faculty positions:  Dr. Stephanie Boss, Chair and Assistant Professor, Department of Sports and Exercise Science; Dr. Jennifer Dennis, Chair and Associate Professor, Department of Education; Dr. Courtney Glazer, Associate Professor, Department of Education; Dr. Danny McGuire, Chair and Professor, Department of Chemistry, Physics and Engineering; Dr. Christian Morren, Assistant Professor, Department of Art, Music and Theatre Arts; and Dr. Michelle Smith, Associate Professor, Department of Education. The Board of Regents for The University of Oklahoma, Cameron University and Rogers State University approved the appointments today during its regularly scheduled meeting.

“Cameron University faculty members are dedicated professionals who are committed to providing an outstanding education to our students,” says Dr. Ronna Vanderslice, Vice President for Academic Affairs. “These vital endowed faculty positions, made possible by donors, provide our faculty members with the resources to enhance the quality of education at Cameron University.”

Boss has been named B.H. and Flora Brewer Endowed Professor in Instructional Technology. Established in November 1997, the endowment assists in advancing the development of instructional technology. Boss joined the CU faculty in 2011.

Dennis has been named the McCasland Foundation Endowed Chair in Educational Leadership, which was established by the McCasland Foundation of Duncan in October 2004 to advance the study of educational leadership and administration. A CU alumna, Dennis has been a member of the CU faculty since 2005.

Glazer has been named Flora Brewer Endowed Chair in Education, which was established in February 2006 to advance the study of education in Southwest Oklahoma. Glazer joined the CU faculty in 2005.

McGuire has been named Dorothy S. Tobias Endowed Chair in Chemistry. The endowment was established in June 2007 to advance the quality of instruction and research in the study of chemistry. He is a CU alumnus who joined the faculty in 2001.

Morren has been named Joye R. Lentz Endowed Professor in Music. The endowment was established in August 2015 to advance the quality of education in music at Cameron University and in southwest Oklahoma. Morren is a CU alumna. She joined the Cameron faculty in August 2017.

Smith has been named B.H. Brewer Endowed Chair in Education, established in February 2006 to advance the study of education in Southwest Oklahoma. A CU alumna, Smith joined the CU faculty in 2000.
