Cameron University Department of Music invites public to “Fill Every Cup and Come Celebrate!” opera workshop performances

The Cameron University Department of Music will present "Fill Every Cup and Come Celebrate!”, a selection of famous opera scenes performed by students enrolled in the university's Opera Workshop. Performances will take place on Friday and Saturday, October 10-11, at 7:30 p.m. in the McCutcheon Recital Hall.  Admission is limited to the first 80 patrons. Tickets are $10 for adults and $5 for students 18 and younger; CU students, faculty and staff are admitted free with CU ID. The performances are sponsored by the Southwest Oklahoma Opera Guild, which will host a reception following Friday's performance. To reserve a seat, call 581-2440.

Scenes to be performed include selections from Mozart’s “Don Giovanni,” “Così fan tutte” and “Die Zauberflöte”;Donizetti’s “Don Pasquale,” “Lucia di Lammermoor” and L’elisir d’amore”; Bizet’s “Carmen”; Humperdinck’s “Haensel und Gretel”; and “Dido and Aeneas” by Henry Purcell. The performances are directed by Patrick Callaghan, Temporary Instructor of Music, with piano accompaniment provided by Yiuka Chan-Spannagel.

Students performing are Haleigh Adams, Nathan Butler, Thomas Hudson, Chelsea Jenkins, Peter Macias, Stacia Martel, Prudence Rivera, Jose Rodriguez, Keith Sahr, Natasha Snavely, Lawton; Aly Hays, Marlow; Kirk Prucha, Duncan; and Alyssa Yates, Elgin.
