Artwork by Cameron University students accepted for national exhibition

Artwork by Cameron University students Hailey Harris and Elia Merel has been selected for inclusion in the 48th Annual National Drawing and Small Sculpture Show hosted by Del Mar College in Corpus Christi, Texas. Harris and Merel are both art majors. The show, which attracts works by contemporary artists from across the country, is judged by a guest juror of national stature and  will be on exhibit from February 21 through May 2 in Del Mar’s Joseph A. Cain Memorial Gallery.

photo of artwork by Hailey Harris“It is always rewarding when artwork by Cameron students is accepted into a national juried show,” says Katherine Liontas-Warren, Professor of Art. “Hailey and Elia have created exceptional works of art through the painstaking and meticulous process of printmaking, and I am thrilled that their work has been recognized.”

Harris created two linocut relief prints, “Land of the photo of artwork by Elia MerelPlanes” and “Growth from the Inside,” that were accepted for the exhibition. This is her second national show.

Merel created a screen print, “Sugar Skull Ladies – Alex,” that was accepted. This is her first national show.
