Cameron University seeks judges for annual Christmas Classic speech and debate tourney

The Cameron University Speech and Debate team is seeking judges for its annual Cameron Christmas Classic speech and debate tournament, which takes place December 6-7.  Approximately 200 competitors from 25 schools will be on the Cameron campus to compete at the tournament. Those interested in judging can contact Sarah Collins, Director of Forensics, at 581-2555 or

“We’re inviting members of the Lawton/Fort Sill community to participate in the annual Cameron Christmas Classic as judges,” Collins says. “No previous forensic or debate experience is required, as judges will receive specific instruction on the event they will be evaluating. We ask that judges be open-minded and willing to evaluate presentations in an unbiased manner. This is a wonderful opportunity for community members, as well as Cameron faculty, staff and students, to experience the highly competitive world of collegiate speech and debate.”

Judges will receive compensation based on how many rounds of competition they evaluate.

The tournament begins with Parliamentary Debate on Friday, December 6, and continues with Lincoln Douglas Debate and Individual events on Saturday, December 7.
