Cameron PLUS students hold toy drive for Lawton Fire Union’s Christmas for Kids program

Cameron University first-year students in the Presidential Leaders and University Scholars (PLUS) program are holding a toy drive to benefit the Lawton Fire Union’s Christmas For Kids program. Unwrapped toys appropriate for children up to age 12 must be new and still in the original packaging. Stuffed animals will not be accepted. The drive runs through Tuesday, Dec. 3. Donations can be dropped off at the McMahon Centennial Complex located at University Drive and D Avenue.

The toys will be delivered to the Lawton Firefighters Union, who will distribute them to children in the Lawton-Fort Sill community. Families can apply for toys through any Lawton Public School counselor or principal.

Students who are accepted into Cameron’s PLUS program receive a four-year scholarship and are required to complete a minimum of 16 service hours per semester. PLUS trains students through a four-year leadership development program aimed at shaping tomorrow’s leaders.
