Cameron University music students to present “The Marriage of Figaro”

The Cameron University Department of Music will present an abridged version Mozart’s classic opera, "The Marriage of Figaro," performed by vocal music students. The performance will take place on Thursday, March 7 at 7:30 p.m. in the McCutcheon Recital Hall.  Admission is free; seating is limited to 80 patrons.  This presentation is co-sponsored by generous funding from the Southwest Oklahoma Opera Guild.

Students participating in the performance are Christopher Beckett, Melissa Delgado, Mark Deyesso, Jamie Hatcher, Thomas Hudson, Peter Macias, Jennifer Nixon, Jose Rodriguez, all of Lawton, and Alyssa Yates, Elgin. Piano accompaniment will be provided by faculty member John Cornish.

“The Marriage of Figaro” is a comic opera which depicts the events of a single “day of madness” in the palace of one Count Almaviva near Seville, Spain. The performance will last approximately 90 minutes.
