Cameron University will host the Oklahoma Association of Marriage and Family Therapy’s Fifth Annual OKAMFT Student and New Professional Conference, “Children, Families and Trauma: A Systems Approach to Treatment.” The conference will take place on Friday, November 16 in the McCasland Ballroom of the McMahon Centennial Conference. The conference kicks off with “Career Paths in MFT,” a panel discussion featuring representatives from CREOKS Behavioral Health Services, A Chance to Change, Fort Sill Well Being Center, Southwestern Behavioral Health Center and Sunbeam Family Services.
Dr. Joanni Sailor, LMFT, will present “Treating Individual Trauma Through the Family Systemic Lens,” and Dr. Thom Balmer, LMFT, will present “Understanding the Impact of Trauma on the Brain.” Both are assistant professors at Cameron University.
The conference will conclude with a panel discussion, “Preparing for Licensure” featuring Bonnie Blauser, LMFT; and LMFT candidates Megan Ibanez, Clifton Nunnally, and Melissa Oliver.
The conference has been approved for 4.50 CEUs.
