Cameron University Department of Music presents pianist Kristina Henckel in recital

The Cameron University Department of Music presents guest pianist Kristina Henckel in solo recital on Thursday, November 15, at 7:30 p.m in the McCutcheon Recital Hall.  Henckel, an adjunct instructor who also serves as accompanist for the Cameron University Centennial Singers, will perform Beethoven's "32 Variations in C minor," Leoš Janáček’s “In the Mists”, Smetana’s “Concert Etude—On the Seashore—A Reminiscence,” and Chopin’s “Sonata in B minor (opus 58).” Admission to the concert is free; seating is limited to 80 persons.

photo of Kristina HenckelA native of the Czech Republic and now an American citizen, Henckel earned a Master’s degree in Music from the Prague Academy of Performing Arts. She is currently a candidate for a Doctor of Musical Arts degree in piano performance and pedagogy from the University of Oklahoma. She has performed numerous solo and collaborative recitals in Europe and the United States and has made several recordings for Radio Vltava, Czech Republic, and Radio Bern, Switzerland.
