Cameron University Concert Choir and Centennial Singers present combined concert

The Cameron University Department of Music will present the CU Concert Choir and the CU Centennial Singers in a combined concert on Tuesday, October 16, at 7:30 p.m. in the Cameron University Theatre.  Admission is $10 for adults and $5 for students and seniors. Cameron students, faculty and staff are admitted free with proper identification.  

Under the direction of John Cornish, the Cameron University Concert Choir will perform "You are the Music” by Dan Forrest and featuring soprano soloist Jordan Brickhouse and horn soloist Rashel Cornish, "Der Tanz” by Franz Schubert; "Ave Verum Corpus" by William Byrd; "The Road Home" adapted by Stephen Paulus and featuring soprano soloist Alyssa Yates, and "Cantique de Jean Racine" by Gabriel Fauré. The Cameron Concert Choir is accompanied by Yiuka Chan Spannagel on piano.

The Cameron Centennial Singers are conducted by Doris Lambert and accompanied by pianist Kristina Henckel. Special instrumental accompaniment will be provided by Dr. Michael Compton on clarinet. The repertoire for the Centennial Singers includes  "Simple Gifts” arranged by Mark Hayes, “When I Fall in Love”  by Heyman/Young and arranged by Kirby Shaw with Jennifer Nixon, soprano soloist; “I'm Beginning to See the Light” arranged by Michele Weir with Jamie Hatcher, Peter Macias, Holly Evans, Alyson Hayes, and Jereme Cobb as vocal soloists; “A Song for You” by Leon Russell, arranged by Mac Huff with Jose Rodriguez and  Jordan Brickhouse  as vocal soloists; and “Dynamite” arranged by Alex Phan with Cole Hart and Alyssa Yates as vocal soloists.

Henckel will perform a piano solo entitled “On the Seashore” Concert Etude in G-sharp minor by Bedrich Smetana as a musical interlude between the two choral ensembles’ performances.
