Cameron University Professor of Art Katherine Liontas-Warren has been asked to participate in two invitation-only art projects. She has created 15 lithographs for inclusion in “Hand, Eye and Bird folio,” a printmaking portfolio exchange curated by Melanie Yazzie, Associate Professor of Art at the University of Colorado. The portfolio will be included in the permanent collection at the Cork Printmakers Special Collection in Cork, Ireland; Boise State University Print Collection in Boise, Idaho; and the University of Nevada in Reno.
In addition, she is one of the artists invited to participate in the Wichita Falls Museum of Art’s “Greek Fortnight” project. For that exhibit, Liontas-Warren painted two ceramic vessels in the style of historical Greek painters. The collection will be on display at the Wichita Falls Museum of Art from April 2-15.
“It is an honor to participate in these two artistic endeavors,” says Liontas-Warren. “It is gratifying to be recognized by my peers. I hope my experiences will give Cameron art students an idea of the opportunities that exist in the art world.”
