Cameron University’s Department of Theatre Arts will conclude its 2010-2011 season “A Year of Playhouse Triumphs” with the children’s musical, “A Year with Frog and Toad” from April 21-24 at the Cameron University Theatre. The production will begin at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday, Friday and Saturday; on Sunday, the show starts at 2 p.m. Tickets are $18 for adults, $12 for senior citizens, military, non-Cameron students/children and Cameron faculty/staff. Cameron University students are admitted free with Cameron ID. For reservations, contact the Cameron University Box Office at 581-2478.
Featuring music by Robert Reale and book and lyrics by Willie Reale, the fun-filled production is based on Arnold Lobel’s much loved children’s books about “Frog and Toad.” Directed by Scott Richard Klein, the musical follows the woodland adventures of two amphibious friends, a worrywart toad and a perky frog, with their assorted colorful hopping, crawling and flying companions, over the course of a year. These best friends do everything together just as best friends should.
Cameron students Amanda Richey and Leah Mazur, both of Cache, take on the lead roles of Frog and Toad, respectively. Other cast members include Judith Egbas, Lagos, Nigeria; Neila Ettienne, St. David’s, Grenada; Brandi Goldsmith, Joshua Hale, Alexander Huff, Christopher Jefferson, and Ashley Winfrey, all of Lawton; Jay Diaz, Las Vegas; Brandon Landers, Cache; Jeffery Humphries, Grand Prairie, Texas; Mary Baumann, Comanche; Sooula Soolua, Long Beach, Calif.
