Cameron University sponsors presentation on achieving maximum level of CyberSecurity

A presentation sponsored by the Cameron University Department of Computing and Technology will focus on CyberSecurity and how organizations can achieve the optimum level of information security. Benjamin Carlson, Information Technology Warrant Officer for the Oklahoma Army National Guard and FireFinder Software Engineer at CGI Federal Systems, will present “So You Think You’re Secure? Balancing Technology, Policy and Education for Maximum IT Security” on Thursday, September 15 at 11 a.m. The presentation is open to the public and will take place in the CETES Conference Center, located on the west side of the Cameron University campus. There is no charge to attend.

Carlson will address how to balance technology, policy and user education/awareness to achieve IT security, including how much emphasis should be placed on technical solutions versus user training with regard to information and network security. He will also examine how policy considerations fit into this picture.

A Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP), Carlson also holds Network+ and Security+ certifications. He has more than 25 years of experience in the field of information technology.
