Lawton High School Orchestra and Altus Community Ensemble to join Cameron University Civic Symphony in concert

The Cameron University Civic Symphony will be joined by the Lawton High School Orchestra and the Altus Community Ensemble in concert on Monday, February 28 at 7:30 p.m. in the Cameron University Theatre. Featured soloists from Cameron University will be flute performers Kelly Haley Silber and Melissa Delgado. Soloists from the Lawton High School Orchestra will be Jose Batty and Raymond Schmidt on violin and Abbigail Bukky on cello. Trisha Smith from Altus will be featured in a violin solo. Tickets are $8 for adults and $5 for students and senior citizens, with Cameron University faculty, staff and students admitted free.

For the Cameron Civic Symphony, conductor Kristen Underwood has selected "Band of Brothers" by Michael Kamen, "Westphalia Waltz" transcribed by Nicholas, the Rondo from Lalo's "Symphonie Espagnole," "Dust In the Wind" arranged by John Reed, and "Sunshine of Your Love" arranged by Richard Maximoff.

The Lawton High School Orchestra, under the direction of Susan Diekman, will perform Corelli’s “Concerto Number 4" with soloists Jose Batty and Raymond Schmidt on violin and Abbigail Bukky on cello.

Sangwook Park will conduct the combined Cameron Civic Symphony and the Altus Community Orchestra on J.S. Bach's Allegro movement from his "Brandenburg Concerto Number 4," featuring Trisha Smith on violin, Kelly Haley Silber on flute, and Melissa Delgado on flute. He will also conduct the combined ensembles on Johann Strauss' "An der schoenen blauen Danau" and Bizet's "Les Toreadors" from "Carmen."
