Cameron’s 14th Annual Red River Expo prepares job seekers for success

Cameron University’s Office of Student Development and the Fort Sill Army Career and Alumni Program (ACAP) will sponsor the 14th Annual Red River Career Expo, an event which provides an opportunity for all students, military personnel and residents of southwest Oklahoma to meet with national, regional and local employers. A wide-range of career fields, including health care, telecommunications, marketing, engineering, information technology, sales, and more, will be represented. The Red River Career Expo takes place on Thursday, February 24, from 12:30-4 p.m. at the CU Fitness Center. The event is open to the public at no charge.

“The Red River Career Expo is an excellent networking event, and we hope Cameron students and members of the community will take advantage of the opportunity to learn about more than 70 different potential employers,” says Jacob Johnson, CU Career Services Coordinator. “Local and regional businesses will be on hand, as well several federal contractors who are looking for quality employees. In addition, representatives from numerous universities will be on hand to provide information on post-baccalaureate degree programs.”

Job seekers, who will have the opportunity to network, hand out resumes, and gather valuable information on different careers, are advised to dress to impress. In addition, CU’s Career Services staff are available to provide resume assistance and tips on getting the most out of a career fair. Career Services is located in 314 North Shepler and can be contacted at 581-2209.
