Cameron University Concert Band and 77th Army Band join for Combined Concert

The Cameron University Concert Band announces its  combined concert with Fort Sill's 77th Army Band on Thursday, April 28 at 7:30 p.m. in the Cameron University Theatre. The Cameron University Concert Band is conducted by Dr. Roy Couch, Assistant Professor of Music, and the 77th Army Band is conducted by Warrant Officer Michael Franz. Admission to the concert is free.

The combined concert bands will perform a wide variety of concert band music including “Commando March” by Samuel Barber; “Canterbury Chorale” by Jan Van der Roost; “Symphonic Suite From Band of Brothers” by Michael Kamen, arranged by Jerry Brubaker; “Majestia” by James Swearingen, “Eternal Father, Strong to Save (The Navy Hymn)” by Claude T. Smith; and “Olympic Fanfare and Theme” by John Williams, arranged by James Curno. Cameron University junior Lorenzo Diaz of Duncan will be the featured soloist on “La Virgen de la Macarena” arranged by Charles Koff. The concert will also include “Theme From Lawrence of Arabia” by Maurice Jarre, arranged by Alfred Reed; two marches by Karl King – “Barnum and Bailey’s Favorite” and “The Trombone King”; and “Stars and Stripes Forever” by John Philip Sousa.
