Cameron University students who received a Pell Grant in the fall or spring semester could be eligible to receive additional assistance through the Federal Pell Grant program. In the past, most students who received a Pell Grant for the fall and spring semesters did not have additional Pell money available for the summer terms. However, recent legislation has made it possible for those grants to be used year round.
Most eligible students must be enrolled in at least six credit hours for the summer in order to receive Pell money and/or other federal financial aid. However, students who were enrolled part time or for only one semester during Fall 2009 and Spring 2010 could be eligible for a summer Pell Grant if enrolled in fewer than six hours for Summer 2010.
Summer Pell grants range from $304 to $2675, depending upon the number of hours enrolled in and the EFC.
To be evaluated for summer Pell Grants, Cameron students should complete the Summer Assistance Application, available in the Office of Financial Assistance, North Shepler, Third Floor, or on the Cameron website at http://www.cameron.edu/financial_aid/forms.html. Completed forms can be faxed to 580-581-2556 or scanned and submitted via email to firstname.lastname@example.org.
