Cameron University earns six awards at annual college public relations contest

Cameron University graphic designers Melanie Barfield and Ann Morris were rewarded for their creativity with a collective six awards during the annual Oklahoma College Public Relations Association (OCPRA) summer conference, held in Tulsa earlier this week. A logo for the new CU Wellness Center received a second place award in the Logo Design/Graphic Identity category. Five projects received Honorable Mention:

  • Small Brochure: Campus Tree Tour
  • Bright Idea:       Cameron Birthday Card
  • Cover Design:   Holiday Tree Lighting Invitation
  • Cover Design:   Holiday Tree Lighting Card
  • Poster Design:  Hyunsoon Whang Piano Recital

Morris and Barfield, both Cameron graduates, are staff members in the Office of Public Affairs.

OCPRA is comprised of public relations professionals from the state’s public and private colleges and universities. The organization endeavors to increase the professional skills of its members, as well as promote higher education. 

College and universities across Oklahoma entered more than 450 projects in 30 multifaceted categories, including writing, graphic design, marketing, audio, video and multimedia.
