Cameron students honored as HPE Majors of the Year

The Cameron University Department of Health and Physical Education recently recognized its HPE Majors of the Year for the 2009-10 academic year. Cheryl Raesz of Dripping Springs, Texas, was honored as Sport/Fitness Management Major of the Year, and Ryan Booher of Devol was recognized as Health and Physical Education (Teacher Certification) Major of the Year.

In order to be eligible for the honor, students must have passed a minimum of 60 credit hours, must currently hold a GPA of 2.5 or higher, must be nominated by a current member of the department faculty, be a current active member of the HPE Majors Club and be willing to carry the department banner at the annual Academic Convocation.

Booher, is a senior who plans to teach physical education and science and coach high school baseball and basketball. He is an avid hunter, fisherman and sports enthusiast.
