Cameron Office of Public Affairs receives national Educational Advertising Award

Cameron University's Office of Public Affairs has received a Merit Award from the 25th Annual Educational Advertising Awards, sponsored by the Higher Education Marketing Report. The office was honored in the Poster category for a poster designed by graphic designer Melanie Barfield to promote a campus piano recital.

The Educational Advertising Awards, dedicated to recognizing the field of admissions marketing and advertising, is the largest educational advertising awards competition in the country. This year, more than 2,000 entries were received from about 1,000 colleges, universities and secondary schools from all 50 states and several foreign countries. The judging panel for the 2010 Educational Advertising Awards was comprised of national higher education marketers, advertising creative directors, marketing and advertising professionals, and the editorial board of Higher Education Marketing Report.

Barfield, of Elgin, received her BFA in Studio Art from CU in Spring 2007. She joined the CU staff in the Office of Public Affairs in July 2007.
