Volunteers welcome as Cameron University helps prepare for Holiday in the Park on Make A Difference Day

Volunteer students, faculty and staff from Cameron University will spend Saturday, October 24 - the 19th annual Make A Difference Day - helping Lawton Parks and Recreation set up for the annual Holiday in the Park. Community members wishing to volunteer are welcome to join the CU group. CU's Make a Difference Day team will converge at Elmer Thomas Park to help light the trails and set up displays from 9 a.m. - 2 p.m. Lunch will be provided for all volunteers. To register as a volunteer, contact Jennifer Luckenbill at 581-7974 or at jluckenb@cameron.edu.

Make A Difference Day, created by USA Weekend Magazine, is the largest community service effort in the United States, rallying corporations, government leaders, charitable organizations and everyday Americans into action on one day. Last year, a record three million people nationwide cared enough about their communities to volunteer on that day, accomplishing thousands of projects in hundreds of towns.
