JRB Art At The Elms to feature exhibition by Cameron professor

Indian artworkDrawings and original prints by Cameron University Professor of Art Katherine Liontas-Warren will be displayed by the JRB Art at the Elms gallery from April 3 - 25. The exhibition will also feature paintings and drawings by D.J. Lafon, retired Chair and Professor of Art at East Central University in Ada. Liontas-Warren and Lafon will be feted at an opening night reception on Friday, April 3, from 6-10 p.m. The gallery is located at 2801 North Walker in Oklahoma City.

Katherine Liontas-Warren, BS, MFA, teaches all levels of drawing and printmaking at Cameron University. Over the past 25 years, she has exhibited in 18 solo shows and 203 national and regional juried competitive competitions throughout the United States and Europe, receiving numerous purchase awards and juried awards. Drawings and prints by Liontas-Warren are in permanent collections throughout the nation and can be located in galleries and private institutions including the Arkansas Art Center, the Milwaukee Museum of Art, Quartz Mountain Lodge, and Oklahoma State University, among others.

Her exhibitions have been displayed at the Bruno Art Conservatory Museum in the Czech Republic, the Goddard Center for Visual Arts in Ardmore, and the Kirkpatrick Museum in Oklahoma City as well as at numerous museums and university galleries throughout the United States. She received the Best of Oklahoma Award in the Texas Oklahoma Art Prize at the Wichita Falls Museum in April 2008. In February 2008, Liontas-Warren was inducted into the Cameron University Faculty Hall of Fame for outstanding teaching and professional activities.
