CU Office of Financial Assistance advises that scholarship deadlines are approaching

Cameron University's Office of Financial Assistance is advising that deadlines are approaching for a number of scholarships that are still available for the 2009-2010 school year. Students are encouraged to apply for these and other scholarship opportunities.

The Scholarship Quest Helper-B. Davis Scholarship is a $1000 scholarship for the 2009-2010 school year. This scholarship is available to all high school juniors and seniors as well as all students currently registered in any post secondary institution.  An essay of less than 1,000 words is required. The deadline is May 30.

2009 Journyx Excellence in Project Accounting Philosophy Scholarship

One $500 scholarship is awarded to an undergraduate or graduate student in recognition of his or her passion for improving the lives of knowledge workers through technology, academic excellence, and the ability to make a difference in the project accounting technology industry. Duncan Chisholm Trail Kiwanis Club

Available to Stephens County residents with a sophomore or higher status (not including graduate students). Amount of scholarship varies. The deadline is June 1. Go to for information and for a scholarship application.

John Gyles Education Awards

Awards up to $3,000. Applicants must be enrolled full-time at or accepted to a college or university program as an undergraduate or graduate student and must have a minimum GPA of 3.0 on a scale of 4.0 (or similar grade assessment) and must also have citizenship in either the United States or Canada.  Additional criteria are listed on the application form. Association on American Indian Affairs 2009-2010 Scholarships

Applicants must be full time students from tribes from the continental U.S. or Alaska and must  attend an accredited school. The deadline is June 15.

Collegiate Investors Competition

Entrants must have been enrolled full-time over the past 12 months and must submit an original idea, process or technology that will be judged on originality and inventiveness, as well as on its potential value to society (socially, environmentally, and economically), and on its range or scope of use. Up to four students may work together as a team. However, only one prize will be awarded per entry. Amount of award varies. The deadline is June 16.

BigSun Scholarship

High school seniors or students attending a post secondary institution and currently participating in some sport at the institution are eligible. Applicants must write a short essay. Scholarships of $500 are awarded. The deadline is June 25. To apply, go to
