Cameron University offers job shadowing event to local employers

Cameron University is looking for local employers to participate in the Second Annual CU Take An Aggie To Work Job Shadow Program, slated for Groundhog Day, February 2, 2010. Through the job shadow experience, students will have the opportunity to spend a half day in a relevant work setting in order to observe and ask questions. As a "shadow," students can learn more about job requirements, employer expectations and professionalism. In turn, the program gives Job Shadow sponsors an opportunity to meet and mentor CU's talented students.

"Last year, for our first Take An Aggie To Work day, we had a tremendous response from employers in Lawton, Duncan and other communities in southwest Oklahoma, and we're confident that even more companies will want to participate this year," says Chase Massie, Student Development Specialist. "Take An Aggie To Work is a wonderful opportunity for professionals who are passionate about their chosen profession to mentor students who may be looking for guidance in determining their own career path."

CU is offering community employers a unique opportunity to help students experience an up-close look at a "day in the life" of a professional. Companies who are interested in hosting students - either individually or in groups of two or three - for this half-day learning experience are encouraged to contact the Office of Student Development at 581-2209 for more information.

Cameron students who are interested in participating in the program should also contact the Office of Student Development no later than November 24, 2009.
