MacArthur High School Symphonic Band to appear with Cameron University Concert Band

The Cameron University Concert Band will be joined by the MacArthur High School Symphonic Band for its Spring Semester Concert, on Tuesday, March 31, 2009, at 8 p.m. in the Cameron University Theatre. Admission is $6 for adults and $4 for military/senior citizens/pre-college students. Cameron University faculty, staff and students are admitted free.

The Cameron University Concert Band, directed by Dr. Roy Couch, Assistant Professor of Music, will perform "Overture for Band" by Felix Mendelssohn, "Third Suite" by Robert Jager, "Resting in the Peace of His Hands" by John Gibson, "By Loch and Mountain" by Robert W. Smith, "The Seventh Night of July" by Itaru Sakai, "Sun Dance" by Frank Ticheli, and "Concerto in B-flat for Two Trumpets" by Antonio Vivaldi. In commemoration of CU's Centennial Celebration, special guest conductor Norval Crews, who served as CU director of bands in the early 1970s, will conduct the Cameron Alma Mater that preceded the current "Cameron Pride."  

The MacArthur High School Band, directed by Larry Hatch, will perform "Chorale and Shaker Dance" by John Zdechlik and "Fortress" by Frank Ticheli.
