STUDENT ASSISTANT - UNIVERSITY ADVANCEMENT
The office for University Advancement is seeking one Student Assistant to join our team. This is a student employee position with 15-20 hours per work. The Office for University Advancement manages the Cameron University Foundation, works with the Development and Alumni Office, donors, and alumni. This is done by conducting campaigns, creating and maintaining donor and alumni relationships, establishing endowed scholarships, lectureships, and chairs for the benefit of Cameron University students, faculty, staff, and others.
A successful applicant will have excellent communication skills, computer skills and including a working knowledge of Microsoft Office, specifically Microsoft Word and Excel, a GPA of 2.5 or higher overall, excellent oral and written communication skills, and the ability to multi-task and work with little/no supervision. The applicant must be able to answer the phone in a clear, professional manner and adhere to a strict policy of confidentiality. Also, the chosen applicant will have a strong work ethic and must be punctual, reliable, detail oriented, and highly organized. Additionally, a successful applicant will maintain an appearance that is appropriate for this highly professional environment as well as have a positive attitude and be excited to work in a strong team environment.
Ideal candidates will illustrate having interests in one of more of the following areas: relationship cultivation with donors, alumni, and community members; an increased understanding of nonprofit organizations, fundraising, marketing, event planning, and accounting. Strong preference will be given to those students with a solid academic record, previous history of involvement in other student activities on campus. This position will enable the successful applicant to learn an important skill set while developing leadership and team experiences useful in future endeavors.
