Freshmen applicants for admission to the Honors College must meet the following requirements:
- Achieve a minimum ACT composite score of 25 or combined math/verbal SAT score of 1,200 or higher
- Achieve a High School (weighted or un-weighted) GPA of 3.5 or higher
- Meet the general admission requirements of the University
The procedures for becoming a member of the Honors Program are: (1) graduating high school seniors with an ACT composite score of at least 25 or combined math/verbal SAT score of 1,200 or high school students with a weighted or un-weighted GPA of 3.5 or higher are extended a letter of invitation to join the Honors Program upon their acceptance into the University; (2) an information brochure about the Honors Program and an application form are enclosed with the letter of invitation; and (3) students are required to complete the application form. Once the information has been received, a letter of acceptance is sent to the students.
Information regarding students who made composite scores of 25 or above on the ACT or SAT equivalent is supplied by the Office of Admissions. Some students with ACT scores of 25 or above may choose not to be in the Honors Program. It is "a dedicated choice".
Current Cameron University students must meet the following requirement:
- Achieve a cumulative Cameron University GPA of 3.2
Transfer students from other colleges must meet the following requirement:
- Achieve a cumulative college GPA of 3.2
