Jessie Marie Dunbar President’s Distinguished Scholarship In Teacher Education

Established in 2009 to benefit students who are at least a junior and are pursuing both a teacher certification and a Masters' Degree in Education.

Scholarship Criteria

  1. Recipient must be pursuing a teacher certification.
  2. Recipient must be a junior or higher in classification and have a cumulative Grade Point Average (GPA) of 3.0 or better to receive the scholarship for the first semester of award.
  3. Once appointed, a recipient may retain the scholarship until degree completion if he/she meets the 3.0 GPA criterion for retention, remains an education major and is making satisfactory progress toward teacher certification; however, no student will receive more than four semesters of scholarship support.
  4. Recipient must be pursuing a Masters' Degree in Education Financial need will be a significant selection criterion.
