Advisement & Enrollment
Current degree plans for education programs are available online from the registrar's office.
Students on the Lawton campus who wish to major in early childhood education or elementary education and are new to Cameron, need transfer work evaluated, or are completing remedial coursework will initially work with the Academic Advising Center in N. Shepler room 113 (for more information see http://www.cameron.edu/advising-center). Once you are ready to leave the Academic Advising Center, you will receive a faculty advisor in the Department of Education.
Students who start at the Duncan campus will initially be advised by advisors in Duncan, and students at Rogers State University will work with Jayne McLoughlin, the Academic Advisement Specialist for Cameron at RSU.
Your advisors will advise you about the best course sequence and necessary prerequisites. Typically, summer and fall enrollment begins after spring break and spring enrollment begins after fall break.
Students in Lawton who are working with faculty advisors and wish to enroll during the first week of enrollment can sign up for an appointment with their advisors before enrollment begins using sign-up sheets outside each office. Students are encouraged to meet with their advisors for advisement before peak enrollment times—this makes enrolling much easier.
