Cameron University will participate in the national observance of Veterans Day 2018 with a series of events to honor both active duty and retired members of the U.S. Armed Forces. On Monday, November 12, the Comanche Battalion, Cameron’s Army ROTC unit, will post the colors at 1 p.m., to start the Veterans Day Observance. Following a performance of the National Anthem s, those in attendance will be asked to observe a minute of silence to honor our nation’s veterans and active duty service men and women. Cameron will continue the tradition of participating in the National Remembrance Roll Call with a reading of the names of those lives lost since last Veterans Day. CU is honored to host Major General Wilson A. Shoffner, Jr., Commanding General, Fires Center of Excellence and Fort Sill, who will speak about the significance of Veterans Day. This event is open to the public and takes place in Veterans Grove, located on the north side of Howell Hall. Veterans from all branches of the Armed Forces are invited to attend.
