The best way to prevent illness, whether it is the cold, flu or coronavirus, is to practice good hygiene. Wash your hands thoroughly. Sneeze into your sleeve or use a tissue. Use hand sanitizer if soap and water are not readily available. Utilize “social distancing” and avoid shaking hands. Clean doorknobs, desktops and computer keyboards regularly. Most importantly, avoid contact with anyone you know is sick.

Common signs of coronavirus are very similar to the flu – sneezing, fever, coughing and shortness of breath. If you experience these symptoms, it doesn’t necessarily mean you have COVID-19. The best course of action is to call your doctor. It is not necessary to go to the hospital unless directed by your physician. If you are on campus, you can also visit the CU Wellness Center.
