LOCAL SCHOLARSHIPS


CU International Club Student Scholarship

Type: Non-institutional award

Amount: $500/semester, $1000/year

Requirements:

  1. International students enrolled full-time at Cameron University
  2. International students in good standing
  3. Students who will have completed at least two semesters by completion of the spring semester
  4. Active paid members of the CU International Club

Priority Date: No later than last Friday in July

Fulbright-Helvey Foundation Scholarship

Type: Fulbright-Helvey Foundation

Amount:  $750 - Spring Semester

Requirements:

  1. Deserving female students, either undergraduate or graduate, of Cameron University
  2. Undergraduate students must have and maintain a cumulative GPA of 2.5
  3. Graduate students must have and maintain a cumulative GPA of 3.0
  4. All students must be full-time students, enrolled in 12 credit hours for undergraduate students and 9 credit hours for graduate students
  5. Additional consideration will be given to those applicants who have demonstrated citizenship and community spirit through their involvement in civic functions and activity throughout their high school and college years
  6. Must have a valid 2017-18 Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) on file with the Office of Financial Assistance
  7. If you are a current recipient of this scholarship and you are returning to Cameron in the fall, you do not have to complete another application. The scholarship will be renewed if you have continued to meet the scholarship criteria

Lawton Noon Lions 4-yr Scholarship

Type: The Lawton Noon Lions Club supports students at our local university (Cameron) through its scholarship program. The scholarships will be awarded to those individuals considered by the Scholarship Committee to be most deserving based on academics, ability, and civic activities.

Amount: $6,000

Requirements:

  1. Must be a first-time freshman attending Cameron University.
  2. Must be pursuing a baccalaureate degree.
  3. The scholarship committee will evaluate applicants based on academics, ability, and civic activities.
  4. Must maintain full-time status and 3.0 GPA.

Lawton Noon Lions Club Annual Scholarship

Type: The Lawton Noon Lions Club supports the education of individuals through its scholarship program. The scholarships will be awarded to those individuals considered by the Scholarship Committee to be most deserving based on academics, ability, and civic activities.

OK-AHEAD Scholarships

Type: OK-AHEAD’s purpose is to further full participation for individuals with disabilities in Oklahoma post-secondary education through collaboration, information dissemination, advocacy, professional and policy development, and research. Oklahoma Association on Higher Education and Disability continues its mission for disability service providers and the students they serve. OK-AHEAD is a state affiliate of AHEAD, a premier professional association for individuals serving students with disabilities in higher education.

Amount: $500

Requirements:

  1. High school senior or a current post-secondary student with plans to pursue an education at an Oklahoma technology center or two-year or four-year college/university.
  2. Provide documentation regarding disability (such as a letter from a physician or anything else you feel necessary to assist the scholarship coordinator in making a decision concerning your eligibility to be considered a person with a disability.
  3. Enrolled in at least 6 hours of coursework.
  4. Minimum 2.0 cumulative GPA on a 4.0 scale or homeschool equivalent.
