Faculty Award for Excellence in Mentoring Student Research
The Faculty Award for Excellence in Mentoring Student Research will recognize a Cameron University faculty member who has an excellent, sustained record of mentoring student research and scholarship by exhibiting one or more of the following criteria: mentoring students outside of the classroom on projects extending the course experience; peer-reviewed publications involving students; providing guidance and support needed to help students develop the skills necessary for not only research and creativity but also critical thinking and innovation. Nominees must submit a current curriculum vitae and a portfolio (up to five pages) that demonstrates the nominee’s leadership, support, and guidance in mentoring student research throughout the entirety of the project. This must include a narrative that describes how the student researchers were involved in the scholarly process and the ways in which the student(s) contributed throughout the process. Inclusion of specific examples or artifacts that demonstrate collaborative research efforts between student(s) and nominees is encouraged.
Nominee must be at the rank of Instructor or higher and must have been employed full-time at Cameron University in a position with teaching as the primary responsibility for at least three years.
