Objective. To read, learn, memorize and perform a wide variety of piano literature. A passing grade is dependent upon successful completion of a semester evaluation normally given during finals week.
Attendance. Lessons will be schedule at times mutually determined by both professor and student. A student may reschedule a lesson with twenty-four hours notice to the professor. Failure to appear without notice for three (3) or more lessons will result in an automatic failing grade for the course.

Repertoire. Students are expected to learn and memorize a minimum of two (2) large scale compositions and a variety of smaller works. Exact repertoire will be determined in consultation with the professor and assigned according to the level of each student.

Portfolio. All music majors are required to prepare a portfolio according to the specifications and deadlines set forth by Department of Music. Portfolio information is distributed at the first music major meeting of the academic year. Once the student completes the Junior Standing, the portfolio must be submitted for review at each subsequent semester evaluation. A grade will be issued for the portfolio in Music 4802 during the final semester of enrollment. The student is responsible for developing and maintaing the portfolio in a systematic manner.
