  • Click the mouse.
  • Click on the Star Toolbar.
  • This adds the tool bar at the top of the screen (may already be there).

  • Move the mouse to the upper left icon and clic.

The method is now loaded and the instrument is preparing for your sample.

It is now time to set the instrument up for your injection.  Click the Inject option on the Toolbar

Click on the Data Files Button.

Navigate to c:\saturnws\OrganicAnalysis.Type your sample number or sample name in the Data File names blank.  Options are given below this blank if you had several samples and did not want to constantly

This is the injection port.  It is hot but don’t feel to confirm.  The triangular metal shield is the injection trigger.  If you touch it will take time for the instrument to reset.

When prompted inject your sample here. Inject full needle down.  Keep vertical alignment. The barrel of the needle must depress the triangular shield upon injection to trigger the instrument.   Sample size needs to be less than 1 mL.  Often much less, so be cautious with sample size.

Spectra collection begins.  You may follow below.

Clic on the chromatograph (bottom graphic) to pick the position of your spectral sampling.  Watch out that you don’t peg the spectral amplitude.
