Episodic Play Structure

Can be defined in two ways:

1.  A series of vignettes centered on a theme or person.

2.  A loose structure in which characters are not caught in circumstances but pass through them as if they are taking a journey.

This is from Edgar Lee Masters Spoon River Anthology which is a play based upon the poetry of Edgar Lee Masters.

It also contained music and song.
