| Teaching Philosophy | |
| I teach analytical thinking and writing; my classes are well-organized, fair, but challenging. In every class period students write responses to the assigned reading for that day. I concentrate on discussing both content and form in the essays the students read, emphasizing strategies they can use in their own writing. In the class, no one ever says, "You know what I'm saying?" If YOU don't know what you are saying, how would I know? Consider Paul Tournier's thought in The Meaning of Persons: "We become fully conscious only of what we are able to express to someone else. We may already have had a certain inner intuition about it, but it must remain vague so long as it is unformulated." | |
