Welcome Katherine has been a resident of Oklahoma since 1984, where she teaches all levels of drawing and printmaking at Cameron University. For the past 24 years, she has exhibited in 17 Solo shows and 200 National and Regional Juried Competitive Exhibitions throughout the United States and Europe, and has received numerous purchase awards and juried awards. Many of her drawings and prints are in permanent collections throughout the nation and can be located in university galleries and private institutions such as Austin Peay University, University of Texas at Tyler, Arkansas Art Center, Oklahoma State University, Quartz Mountain Lodge, University of North Dakota, Del Mar College, Texas Tech University, University of Wisconsin-Madison, Whitman College in Walla Walla, Veterans Hospital in Oklahoma City, Young Eye Institute, Butler Community College, El Dorado, Kansas, University of Science and Arts of Oklahoma, and the Milwaukee Museum of Art. Katherine’s exhibitions have been displayed at the Longview Museum, TX, Midwestern State University, TX, Ball State, University, Indiana, Florida State University, Moorhead State University, Minnesota, Kilgore College, East Central State University, TX, Odessa College, TX, Leslie Powell Art Gallery, Goddard Center for Visual Arts, Kirkpatrick Museum in Oklahoma and the Bruno Art Conservatory Museum in Czechoslovakia Republic. Katherine received the Best of Oklahoma Award in the Texas Oklahoma Art Prize at the Wichita Falls Museum in April 2008. In February of 2008, Katherine was inducted into the Faculty Hall of Fame for outstanding teaching and professional activities at Cameron University. She was awarded a sabbatical for the spring 2007 semester and created drawings and original prints of art for exhibition in 2008. In 2006, Katherine and forty-five outstanding printmakers from across the nation were in invited to show an original print for ColorPrint USA. This exhibition was held at the Landmark Gallery at Texas Tech University. During the same year, she was the juror for the Young Talent of Oklahoma. Katherine was selected educator of the year and artist of the year in 2005 and 1993. In the fall of 2004 Katherine’s work was featured in the issue of American Artist Magazine. In the summer of 2004, Katherine was invited to participate in a Cultural Landscape Print Exchange between North America and north Ireland artists. Katherine has taught numerous workshops on drawing and printmaking at various universities and institutes. She has taught three drawing workshops at the Adult Arts Fall Institute at Quartz Mountain for public school teachers and university educators. In 1999, Katherine was commissioned to complete a 32”x 50” color pencil portrait of WC.Austin, 1930’s civic leader and lawyer, for the new Quartz Mountain State Lodge in Oklahoma. Katherine was invited to participate in Color Print USA, a national portfolio exchange exhibition of original prints by 52 artists from 50 states. This exhibition opened nationwide on November 6, 1998 in all 50 states and has toured Europe.
