Paper #2: Tracing the History of a Historiographic Field
Having
completed the assigned readings for unit 2, write a 2-page,
double-spaced, and appropriately footnoted (please ask me if you are
uncertain as to what this means) paper in Times New Roman 12-pt. font
in which you address yourself to all of the articles you
have read for class in which you 1)
establish where the field of the history of women and work in early
modern Europe has been since its inception in the early work of Alice
Clark. You need not establish a synthesis for the field at any
one point in time. All you need to do is show how the field has
progressed over its lifetime on the basis of what you have read for
class. Your thesis statement should make a claim as to what you
think the general direction of the field has been over the years.
