Informal Writing #4

Part 1) Starting your research paper:  In conjunction with Thursday's Question Set 3 Discussion, in this part of the informal writing you will create and test a "starter" thesis based on the research that you have done so far this term on for your Research Paper.  Here are the steps to follow:

1) Write down the central question that you are trying to answer in your Research Paper then propose a preliminary answer to that question based on your research to date.  The answer to the question is your "starter" thesis.

2) Indicate one and ideally three sources (i.e. primary sources or documents) that you have so far used to test your starter thesis.

3) In your research did you find that the thesis was borne out or not?  Explain using quotes from your sources.

4) Describe what you think the next steps in the project should be and explain why.

Part 2) Starting your review: Using the instructions for the book review, write the introduction for your review and the analytical summary.  You will receive critique on these in time to work it into the review.

Part 3) Optional:
For up to 5 additional points to be applied to this assignment or any previous writing assignment(s) submit a further two pages of notes from your research project.
