My name is Tony Wohlers and I am an Assistant Professor in the Department of History and Government at Cameron University in Lawton, Oklahoma, specializing in public policy, urban politics, and European politics. I earned my doctorate in Political Science from the Northern Illinois University in 2004 and my Master of Arts degree from the University of Illinois in 2000. In addition, I earned a Bachelor of Arts Magna Cum Laude with Distinction in Political Science from Sonoma State University in 1998 and two Bachelor of Arts degrees in Political Science and History from the University of the Saarland, Germany in 1996. I taught a range of classes, including Introduction to American Government, European Politics, Introduction to Public Policy, and Research Methods in Political Science. I previously taught at the Northern Illinois University, Dominican University, and Eastern Illinois University.

My research focuses on the role of neighborhood groups in local government, public policymaking in the context of risk and e-government, and urban growth approaches in large cities, using qualitative and quantitative approaches. Professor Irene Rubin supervised my dissertation on the influence of neighborhood groups in relationship to local agenda-setting. I have also participated in numerous professional conferences and I am currently working on various manuscripts for publication.
