Recycle program

Email from Jason Powell that request for proposal has some language that needs to be changed and has to be rewritten. R. Little reported that J’s Recycling has bins available for cardboard, cardboard/newspaper, shredded/white paper and is even  looking at curbside recycling. The bins are ready to go out and there have been 7 requests. At his location at H and 2nd can now recycle number 1 and 2 plastic. Can sign up for service, view bins or get a bin for newspaper /cardboard at lawtoninfo.com and click on recycling. He is looking for neighborhoods to get together to do recycling. Aluminum is now over 80 cents per lb.

Encourage neighbor hood watch groups to look into recycling.

Median Projects

R.Bellino has contacted C.Langston to do signage for Wal-mart median. Medians have generated much interest. Inquires by Sooner Dialysis, Dr. B. Saliba from Heart and Vascular Ctr. and Naturescape are interested in doing medians. We can’t commit to any new medians until we know that we can access water. K.Jackson and C. Dentler are working on it. R. Bellino is concerned that all plants contracted for by Naturescape in Gore and 36th median are not there. Also, many of the plants died right away.

K.Jackson and C. Dentler are looking into areas that we can access water.

Underpass at Quanah Parker

R. Bellino paid $4,000.00 for the underpass to Monkey Business from LBI treasury. R. Bellino called and spoke with M.Brown who promised to pay for the median but got no response. Also, and invoice was sent to mike Brown. R. Bellino sent letter with directions to Monkey Business if they will be interested in putting on the Graffiti protection

Continue to pursue putting on Graffiti protection.
