Median Projects |
Signage has been ordered for the Wal-mart median. Water is now in place on median on Gore and 40th st across from Liberty Bank. K.Jackson will talk to 4-D about Liberty bank median and look at either all crepe myrtles or one like we have now in the other medians. Gore and 36th may not have all plants we originally contracted for. There are dead plants. Parks and Recreations can’t continue to maintain the medians because of their work load. R.Givens suggested talking with businesses that sponsored medians to maintain them. Unitarian church has offered to help with one of our causes. If in future consider tying in the maintenance with the donors business. Offer from others to put in medians including Heart and Vascular Center and Sooner Dialysis. Heart and Vascular is interested I-44 and Rogers Lane. Rogers Lane is state highway and we would need to sign a contract with state that we would maintain it. We may have to look at other options for them.

K. Jackson will address the plants in 36th and Gore.
K.Jackson will get drawing and bid from 4-D for Liberty Bank median R. Bellino to contact Unitarian Univeralist Church to see if they would be willing to maintain the medians.

Adopt 11th st project-I-44 to Lee Blvd partnership with LETAA Street |
The general citizens concern is with appearance of 11th st coming off 1-44 past the airport to Lee Blvd the appearance of which colors the entire perception of the community. R. Givens says that LETA will partner with LBI and Mayor’s Taskforce to work on the project. R.Bellino stated that there are grants available immediately from Wal-mart and Lawton Community Foundation. The grant for Wal-mart has already been submitted and the grant for LCF just needs a drawing with cost before sending it in . The first section is from airport north to Bishop road which is ¼ m each side of the street . This would have a watering system and the initial thought would be crepe myrtles with Yaupon hollys. J.Ard says there is another group in the City interested in doing this. R. Bellino suggested she contact our group. |
K.Jackson to get drawing and cost estimate to R. Bellino who will submit grant to LCF |
