Dr. Jim Lambert served on the Centennial Commission during the 2005-2006 academic school year in his role as Faculty Senate Chair.
Dr. Lambert graduated as valedictorian of Monahans High School, Texas, in 1969. He then graduated magna cum laude from Baylor University with a Bachelor of Music Education in 1973. Two years later, he earned his Master of Music in percussion/music theory at University of North Carolina-Chapel Hill. He went on to earn a Doctor of Musical Arts in percussion and music composition from the University of Oklahoma in 1984. Lambert has been teaching at Cameron for 30 years. Many of Lambert's percussion students are now working or performing in music. Lambert is involved in several types of volunteerism and organizations. He is a Sunday school teacher at First Baptist East, and he is the principal percussionist and timpanist in the Lawton Philharmonic Orchestra. At Lawton Christian School, he volunteers his services as band director. Over the years, Lambert has been awarded the Governor's Award for Excellence, the Phi Kappa Phi Award for Meritorious Service and the Lawton Arts and Humanities Award for Musical Excellence. |
