Cameron University President Cindy Ross serves as Chairman of the Centennial Commission. A fifth-generation Oklahoman, Ross has been a leader in higher education in the state for almost 30 years.
Ross earned her baccalaureate, master's and doctoral degrees from Oklahoma State University where she held both administrative and academic posts at OSU until 1990 when she joined the Oklahoma State Regents for Higher Education (OSRHE). Ross worked as Chief Academic Officer and Executive Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs during her 12 years at the OSRHE. She came to Cameron University as the 19th president in 2002. Throughout her tenure as President, Ross has been dedicated to providing Cameron students with quality academic programs and the complete collegiate experience. She spearheaded the construction of Cameron Village, CU's state-of-the-art living and learning center, as well as the Center for Emerging Technology and Entrepreneurial Studies (CETES), the university's economic development initiative. In 2004, Ross's ongoing effort to make Cameron the "University of Choice" for Southwest Oklahoma yielded the largest freshman class and full-time enrollment in the university's history. |
