Centennial Commission member Betty B. Graybill has served her community and Cameron for more than half a century.
Graybill earned an Associate of Arts from Stephens College and later graduated from the University of Iowa with a Bachelor of Science degree. However, her education did not stop there. More than 30 years after graduating with a bachelor's degree, Graybill, now a member of the Lawton/Fort Sill community, returned to higher education. In 1978 she took several classes at Cameron because, as she said, she enjoyed the learning experience. Throughout her life, Graybill has been active in many community organizations. She has served as a board member of the United Way and remains involved as a Cameron University President's Partner. She is an inaugural member of the Museum of the Great Plains Trust Authority. She has also volunteered as a Cub Scout Den Mother and was a past PTA president for both John Adams Elementary and Tomlinson Junior High School. Graybill has been honored with the Lawton's Citizen of the Arts (1997). |
