AY 2014-2015 Student Learning Outcomes

  1. Students will construct a traditional academic research paper that includes evidence of critical thinking, comparing/contrasting, evaluating and defending a main thesis. The Research Paper is assessed using the COMMUNICATION RESEARCH Rubric and marked based on FIVE core competencies.
  2. Students will plan, create and deliver a professional speech.
  3. Students will demonstrate familiarity with major concepts and theoretical perspectives in the Communication Studies field.

AY 2014-2015 Student Learning Outcomes

  1. Students will write effective, publishable and professional journalistic content for internet and print media.
  2. Students will create and produce video media packages for Internet and traditional media outlets.
  3. Students will create and produce visual and textual media for Internet and print.
  4. Students will compare and contrast defined elements of MEDIA LITERACY, evaluating and ranking core concepts in a short-answer narrative.
