Clinical Education
SWAHEC provides customized training health care experiences such as clinical rotations in primary care for Doctoral students in Osteopathic and Allopathic medicine as well as Physician Associates, underserved and rural areas. Please check out the brochure below for a map of previous clinical students now practicing in southwest OK. Assistance we can provide include:
*Locate and coordinate reliable housing for most rotations
*Locate a qualified preceptor to meet student needs
*Customize rotations that are specific to student needs and interest
*Specialize summer clinical experience customized to student schedules, interest and needs
*Early clinical summer experiences for student as requested
*Opportunities to attend local and AHEC sponsored workshops, conferences and seminars
*Classroom presentations on health realted topics
*Conference management
*Information and referral
*Geriatric Education in partnership with the University of Oklahoma's Geriatric Education Center. Maintain a library of Geriatric related education which is available for loan.
*Access to health resource materials such as DVD's, brochures and journals
*For those who require CME, opportunities for loan of DVD's which will provide continuing education credit for pharmacy, nursing, social work and physicians
*Other services as requested

*Maintain active association of community organizations to better assess the needs and requests for education on current topics of benefit to the community and area
*Serve as a pulse for the most current health care information and act as a conduit for that information to the community and area
*Provide Cancer Survivorship Education through the LiveStrong Program provided by the Lance Armstrong Foundation
*Locate guest speakers for health related topics
*Create and sustain community interest groups in new and innovative program and special interest programming in southwest Oklahoma
*Conference management
*Information and refferal
